Police have claimed a major victory in the battle against fraud.

This, after they arrested 99 suspects, linked to an international Macau fraud syndicate based in KL. 

The 93 Chinese nationals and 6 Malaysians were detained following a raid at the syndicate's call centre near KL Sentral.

Of the two locals, one was a Datuk Seri, while the other was a 14-year-old boy. 

Bukit Aman's Commercial Crimes department says while the syndicate was based here, they targeted victims in China. 

Postponed !

The MACC has postponed the date for it to publish the asset declarations of Cabinet members and Pakatan Harapan MPs.

The anti-graft agency was supposed to publish the info on its portal next Tuesday, but now it's been delayed until October 15th.

It's to enable all Cabinet members and MPs to submit their asset declarations.
 

In other news:

The govt has proposed setting up volunteer squads, comprising of People’s Housing Project residents, to provide aid in disaster situations at PPRs.

The Women, Family and Community Development Ministry says they will provide early assistance during disaster situations, before rescue agencies arrive at the scene. 

According to the NST, the project will kick off in KL, with City Hall to decide on when to set up the squads.

New parents take note - the NRD says the names of your children CANNOT exceed 80 characters

It says this includes the father's name and bin or binti. 

The NRD saysm this is because the relevant forms only have 80 characters. 

For the record, the longest name in Malaysia contains a whopping 78 characters.
