Datuk Seri Najib Razak is expected to face more charges soon, in relation to 1MDB.

Sources within the MACC have confirmed the matter to the media, but declined to elaborate further.

The former prime minister spent six hours being questioned yesterday, in the latest session with the anti-corruption commission.

Bar Malaysia: NO, we do not agree !

The Malaysian Bar does not agree with the proposal to automatically replace the death sentence with a 30-year jail term, once capital punishment is abolished.

Its president George Varughese says the sentences of those currently on death row, should instead be commuted to those that are proportionate to the severity of the offences they committed.

He also says things like the offenders age, past criminal record and mental capacity should also be taken into consideration.

In other news:

Do not expect a Malaysian-made fighter jet anytime soon.

Defense Minister Mohamad Sabu says we currently do not have the capability for such an undertaking, especially in terms of money. 

This is despite some researchers saying that Malaysia could have the potential to produce a fighter jet by 2020.
