It will soon take the police no more than eight minutes to respond to a crime.
This is part of the intiatives that the government hopes to implement to improve public safety and security, as outlined in yesterday's tabling of the 11th Malaysia Plan mid-term review.

There will also be more public engagement and participation in PDRM's crime prevention efforts.
However, a group calling itself Malaysians Against Rape, Assault and Snatch Theft has told The Star that none of these measures are new.
It adds that such PR-talk is not enough, and it wants to see real action being taken.
It's gonna be easier
The government is working to make it easier for you to identify which items are exempted from the Sales and Services Tax.

The Finance Ministry says authorities are currently compiling a full list of items that do not incur the SST, with this list to be announced once completed.
