Authorities: the search operation has been called off.

After 5 days, authorities have called off the search operation for those buried underneath the landslide that struck Jalan Bukit Kukus, Penang last week. 

This, after they were unable to find one victim who is still missing.

9 bodies were recovered from the debris, all of them migrant workers from Bangladesh, Indonesia and Myanmar. 

Meanwhile, the Bangladeshi High Commission says it's working to repatriate the remains of its nationals who died in the tragedy. 

After that, it will discuss the issue of compensation with the relevant authorities.

In other news:

The government has listed 16 food items under the Festive Season Price Control Scheme, in conjunction with Deepavali on November 6th.

The Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs Ministry says the scheme will be implemented for seven days from November 3rd, covering items including chickens, eggs, mutton and onions.

And 20 people were injured, some of them seriously, when an escalator collapsed at a rail station in Rome, Italy. 

Most of those injured were football fans, who were on their way to attend a Champions League match between Roma and CSKA Moscow.
