Abused maid now sheltered at Indonesian embassy

The 19-year-old Indonesian maid who was found unconscious in a drain in PJ last week, is now staying at the Indonesian Embassy.

PJ police say the maid was sent to the embassy after she was discharged from the UM Medical Centre.

Suyanti was found with horrific injuries which she allegedly suffered in the hands of her employer, whom she has only been with for 2 weeks at the time.

Her employer surrendered to the police the same day the maid was found, and has now been released on bail.
