Malaysia remains hopeful of getting US visa waiver

Apr 22, 2017

Efforts are still ongoing to have Malaysian passport holders included in the US Visa Waiver Program.

A US official says Malaysia is currently working on some of the requirements set by the US State Department, with our inclusion in the program to be discussed at some point in the future.

Our government first expressed its desire to participate in the Visa Waiver Program, during former President Barack Obama's visit to Malaysia back in 2014.

The programme will enable Malaysians to enter and stay in the US without a visa for a maximum of 90 days for tourism and business.
