New Highway Investigation Unit launched

The police have launched a new Highway Investigation Unit to investigate minor accidents along the North South Expressway.

A traffic policeman will be equipped with an electronic investigations paper, which will allow him to immediately issue a case verdict as soon as investigations are completed.

Separately, traffic accidents and fatality rate in the country have dropped more than 7% since 2016 until last year.

The PDRM says the implementation of Ops Selamat has helped to cut the number of fatal accidents.
