North Korean ambassador concerned over Malaysia's decision to expel him

Mar 06, 2017

North Korean ambassador to Malaysia Kang Chol has expressed concern over the government's decision to expel him, adding that it will harm years of bilateral ties between both countries.

His expulsion is the result of his refusal to apologize for critisizing the authorities' handling of the recent murder of a North Korean national at KLIA2.

According to Astro Awani, the ambassador was scheduled to leave on a 6.25pm flight for Beijing.

This, as the DPM said there was no hidden agenda behind Kang Chol's expulsion.

He added that the government felt it was necessary to assert its right, after coming under attack by the ambassador in a such a high-profile case.
