Outrage after police kill dog at Auckland Airport

New Zealand police have come under fire, for killing a security sniffer dog that escaped from its leash and ran onto the runway at the Auckland airport.

The cops, however, defended their actions, saying they shot the dog as a last resort after failing to capture it.

The incident grounded 16 flights, and caused several hours of delays.
