Chickens and eggs in Penang are not being destroyed

A viral message claiming that chickens and eggs were being destroyed in Penang, has been confirmed as a hoax.

The message had also urged the public to stop eating chicken and eggs, but the Penang Veterinary Services Department told the Star, it's not true.

It adds, it has not received any reports from poultry farmers in the state about the matter.

It has also implemented border control for import of poultry from other states, amid the bird flu outbreak in Kelantan.
