1 in 5 Malaysian adults has diabetes

Apr 07, 2017

The National Health and Morbidity Survey 2015 shows that almost 1 in 5 Malaysian adults has diabetes.

This has exceeded the Health Ministry's earlier projection, of only hitting this unwelcome milestone in 2020.

Separately, the Ministry says the recently-approved dengue vaccine will not be given for free at government hospitals, as it will not be incorporated into the National Immunisation Program just yet.

This is because the vaccine was approved with conditions, due to its possible side effects.
