800 thousand ringgit seized from police corporal's home

The MACC has seized about 800 thousand ringgit from the home of a police corporal in Melaka, who was arrested for alleged graft. 

The 52-year-old is the 10th person detained so far, for allegedly providing protection to illegal gambling and massage outlets.

6 of the others in detention, are also cops. 

In a separate case, a police inspector from the Subang Jaya district headquarters was remanded for 5 days, for allegedly accepting a 5 thousand ringgit bribe in exchange for not taking action in a criminal intimidation case.

This, as the Chief Secretary to the Government says the vetting process for new civil servants may need to be improved, to prevent them from getting involved with corruption.
