MACC detains Alor Gajah CID chief
May 24, 2017
The Alor Gajah CID chief is the latest to be detained by the MACC, as part of a probe into an alleged protection racket for vice dens in Melaka.
He is the 13th individual to be arrested, including two Melaka district police chiefs.
The detention comes as the IGP revealed that a major personnel reshuffle is underway within the Melaka police force.
Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar says the first phase of the reshuffle has already been conducted, with more officers to be transfered in the coming weeks.
He has also denied allegations that there is a culture of lower-ranked cops forced to take bribes, in order to pay for their superior's entertainment expenses.
