Civil Defence Department suspends trainers over snake incident

Oct 19, 2016

The Civil Defence Department has suspended 4 trainers and 6 assistant trainers from its Kuala Kangsar branch over the snake incident.

The Perak APM told Harian Metro, the trainers were found to have flung 2 pythons into a mud pool used by a group of female students, as seen in a viral video.

The programme has also been suspended pending investigations.

Meanwhile, the Education Ministry has expressed disappointment over the incident, saying it should never have happened.

It adds, it doesn't matter that the snake wasn't poisonous as the students have been traumatised.
