Woman remanded over viral video of girl being beaten

A woman in her 60's has been remanded for a week, to assist investigations into a viral video, allegedly showing her brutally beating a young girl.
Police say the woman is the grand-aunt of the girl, who is believed to have been beaten for spilling her food.
The woman is being investigated under the Child Act, and faces a maximum 10 year jail term or a 20 thousand ringgit fine, if convicted.
Speaking of viral videos, Perak police are seeking the driver, who was seen in a clip, allegedly offering a bribe to a traffic policeman.
Cops say they need the driver in order to proceed with the investigation, adding that the policeman in the video has since been reassigned to desk duty, pending the outcome of the probe.
Separately, police in Alor Setar are looking for a suspect, who allegedly stabbed his girlfriend multiple times when she tried to break up with him.
