Tun M feels strain of being the premier at his age

Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad says the damages government Pakatan inherited is taking a toll on him...

"If i'm as young as I was in 1981, I think I can put up with the strain. But here, it's almost unbearable. The amount of decisions that has to be made, I have to decide because that's the job of the Prime Minister. But to the extent that I can, I will try to do the right things," he said.

Speaking at a forum in the UK, Tun M was commenting on the difference between his two stints as Prime Minister, the first being in 1981.

MOE moves towards better monitoring school heads

Teachers might soon be allowed to evaluate school administrators and principals, as the Education Ministry studies such a proposal. 

It hopes this will allow the government to better assess the performance and abilities of school heads.

Meanwhile, tahfiz schools that are still not registered can register themselves as a private school, so they can have access to proper security guidelines. 

Education Minister Dr Maszlee Malik says this is to ensure the safety of students.

IGP defends raids at Najib's residences, saying they were well within the law

The IGP is insisting that the police raid at Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak's residences back in June, were lawful. 

Tan Sri Mohamad Fuzi Harun says police complied with all laws and even involved the management of Pavilion Residences as well as Bank Negara, to avoid any disputes. 

He was responding to allegations by a blogger who accused the police of stealing over RM43 million belonging to UMNO during the raid. 

The IGP says the claims are being viewed seriously as it tarnished the credibility of the police.

Massive water cut in Selangor next Tuesday

Be ready for a massive water cut in Selangor next Tuesday. 

Syabas says the water disruption will last for a maximum 72 hours, to facilitate equipment replacement works at a water treatment plant. 

Petaling, Hulu Langat, Sepang and Kuala Langat will be affected, with about 340,000 consumers to experience dry taps next Tuesday.

Some of the affected areas are Taman Universiti, Bandar Puteri Puchong, Taman Equine and UPM.
