One body recovered from Lion Air crash in Indonesia

Oct 29, 2018

Indonesian authorities have recovered the body of one of the victims of the Lion Air flight that crashed in the waters off Jakarta this morning.

Domestic flight JT160 lost contact with ground officials 13 minutes after taking off.

The airline company says the aircraft was brand new, while its pilots had 11,000 hours of flight experience combined.

Meanwhile, Datuk Kapten Jaffar Lamri, CEO of the Centre of Maritime Excellence told Astro Awani, he believes that the bodies of more victims could be trapped inside the plane.

Almost 190 passengers including 3 children, were on board at the time of the crash.

Meanwhile, a rep from the Malaysian Embassy in Jakarta says they're now trying to obtain the full passenger manifest, to determine if there were any Malaysians on board.
