Najib set to be charged, yet again!

Oct 24, 2018

Najib and Irwan Serigar charged with CBT

Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak will be charged with criminal breach of trust tomorrow morning.

Former Treasury Sec-Gen Tan Sri Mohd Irwan Serigar Abdullah will also face the same charges at the KL Sessions Court.

This, after Najib was questioned for three hours, by the MACC this afternoon.

Irwan has reportedly been arrested by the MACC, with multiple sources claiming he will be held overnight.

Meanwhile, the MACC has also obtained permission to charge Datuk Hasanah Abdul Hamid, former chief of a local spy agency, also for criminal breach of trust.

Earlier, Najib spent about an hour with the Public Accounts Committee, where he was questioned over the allegedly missing GST refunds.

The PAC chairman says they have yet to determine if Najib would be recalled over the issue.

The chairman adds that Finance Minister Lim Guan Eng will only be called up after Budget 2019 is tabled next Friday.

Drop in PTPTN loan repayments is not Pakatan's fault alone

The total amount of PTPTN loans paid back between June and last month was more than RM800 mil.

In Parliament, Deputy Education Minister Teo Nie Ching says there was a decrease in the amount collected, compared to the same period last year.

However, she has refused to accept sole responsibility, saying the drop in PTPTN repayments this year was partly caused by the previous government's extension of the grace period to repay the loans.

Over 400,00 PTPTN loan defaulters were removed from the Immigration travel blacklist this year.

She also refuted claims that those earning below RM4,000 would not have to repay their loans.
