Budget 2019 could focus on efforts to strengthen public transport connectivity, as well as fine-tuning the civil service system.

Hannah Yeoh wants to move on children's education and better care for senior citizens

More than 20,000 child abuse cases in Malaysia were recorded over the past five years.

According to the Women, Family and Community Development Ministry, statistics show most of the abuse was caused by babysitters and close family members.

It adds, children need to be aware of this issue now, so as to ensure they don’t repeat the act when they are older, and have their own kids.

Separately, the Ministry will be looking into providing better care for the elderly.

It says many women tend to leave their jobs, when they have to care for their children or their parents.

It believes that if more women are to come back into the workforce, support for caring for their parents must be provided.
