Goverment to further study toll concession agreements, before abolishing collections

No new toll concession is expected to be sanctioned by the Pakatan Harapan government.

Works Minister, Baru Bian says no new agreements will be inked under the present government, to allow an in-depth study into the existing agreements.

This is in line with the coalition’s pledge to abolish tolls nationwide in the next five years.

He says the abolishments cannot be made in one go as it will cost the government RM400 billion, and will have an adverse impact on the government’s financial standing.
