Education Ministry focuses on increasing access to education

Nov 22, 2017

The Education Ministry is focusing on increasing access to education, from pre-school all the way to secondary school.

It has drafted a set of guidelines to tackle the problem of school drop-outs, which is being tested in KL, Putrajaya and Kedah, before it's extended nationwide next year.

The drop-out rate for primary school pupils was below 1 percent from 2014 to 2016 in peninsular malaysia, while for secondary school students, the drop-out rate was higher, at almost 3.6 percent.
