Guan Eng thanks King for royal cut

Jun 12, 2018

The Finance Minister has thanked the Yang di-Pertuan Agong for taking a 10% cut in royal allowances until 2021 to help with the country’s economy.

Lim Guan Eng says the move would help boost the people's spirits.

Separately, Lim has confirmed that assets seized by US authorities from 1MDB will be monetised and returned to Malaysia as early as possible.

This, following a meeting between Lim and the US ambassador to Malaysia earlier today.
