The Bukit Gelogor MP said he has always advocated the abolishment of the death penalty, but it's justifiable in exceptational cases.

He was responding to the death of 11-month-old Baby Zara in KL, who was allegedly physically and sexually abused by her caretaker's husband.

Some netizens have echoed Ramkarpal's sentiments, but this comes just a few weeks after the Pakatan govt said it was committed to abolishing the death penalty.

Meanwhile, the Public Service Psychology Officers Association of Malaysia president told Astro Awani there are 3 main reasons for the increase in child abuse cases.

And a 50-year-old woman has been arrested in connection to Australia's "needles in strawberry" scare.

The former farm worker has been charged with contaminating goods and is looking at a maximum 3 year jail sentence, but prosecutors are trying to push it to 10.

Strawberries with needles in them were found across Australia in September, sparking nationwide panic that resulted in tonnes of fruit being destroyed.
