The Special Branch counter terrorism chief gave the example of the church suicide bombing in Surabaya, Indonesia in May, that was carried out by a family, which included two girls aged nine and 12.
Meanwhile, Bukit Aman has detected nearly 100 Malaysians keen on heading to Syria and southern Philippines to join IS.
This, after monitoring some 4,000 social media pages.
