'Twas a peaceful assembly

The Home Ministry has hailed security forces for how they handled yesterday's anti-ICERD rally in KL.
Its Minister also thanked organisers and participants for a peaceful assembly and for giving full cooperation to the authorities.
Police say an estimated 55,000 people attended the rally.
No untoward incidents were reported.
However, the City police chief said several people breached the Peaceful Assembly Act by bringing children to the rally.

PTPTN should focus on loan defaulters
PKR Youth has urged PTPTN to focus on loan defaulters, and not overly burden those who are already making repayments.
It says this will help ensure consistent repayment by all PTPTN loan borrowers.
This, after PTPTN proposed a widely-criticised mandatory salary deduction scheme for all borrowers.
The scheme has since been postponed pending further discussions.

Fireman Adib stable but remains on life support
The fireman who was severely injured in the riots at the Sri Maha Mariamman temple in Subang Jaya, is in stable condition, but remains on life support.
IJN specialists say he has shown a lot of positive development, and that his internal organ functions can be restored to optimum levels.
