Honey, wanna buy Jho Low's yacht?

The sale of Jho Low's luxury yacht, The Equanimity is expected to be completed by the end of March.

A lawyer representing the government says this, as the sale is about to enter its second  phase, which is a normal sale through private negotiations.

It will be sold for at least RM540mil, or roughly half its original price, based on independent appraisers from the UK. 

The Equanimity was previously put up for auction, but the lawyer said that none of the bids were good enough.

Isa Samad to be charged over hotel purchases tomorrow

The MACC has confirmed that Tan Sri Mohd Isa Samad will be charged at the KL Sessions Court tomorrow at 9:00am.

This is with regards to the purchase of hotels by FELDA's investment arm.

Earlier today, the former FELDA Chairman showed up at the MACC's headquarters to sign a guarantee letter stating he will be at the KL Courts Complex tomorrow.

Isa was arrested by the MACC last year over the purchase of hotels between 2014 and 2015, one in London and another in Sarawak.

However, he wasn't charged at the time.

Bung Moktar appointed Sabah UMNO Chief

Supreme council member Datuk Seri Bung Moktar Radin has been appointed Sabah UMNO Chief.

This, after more than a dozen Sabah UMNO MPs and state assemblymen quit the party yesterday.

Meanwhile, UMNO President Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi says the exodus was expected but it will not weaken the party.

MET forecasts heavy rain in east coast till tomorrow

The MET Department says people in Terengganu and Pahang will see continuous heavy rain until tomorrow.

This, as the number of flood evacuees in Terengganu rose past 700, while 40 are displaced in Pahang. 

Nearly 120 other flood victims are seeking shelter in Selangor and Melaka.

Chicken eggs price increment under probe

The Malaysian Competition Commission is working closely with authorities to investigate recent rise in the price of chicken eggs.

It wants to determine if market players are artificially raising their prices.

The commission has promised that stern action will be taken if any elements of profiteering is found, to protect the interests in Malaysian consumers.
