Government to find ways to verify official social media accounts

The government is working on a mechanism to authenticate the Twitter handles and other social media accounts of Ministries or other agencies.

The Communications and Multimedia Minister says this is to ensure that online users get accurate information from online sources.

It will also prevent people from being tricked by invalid accounts, that try to pass themselves off as official Ministry or agency accounts.
