Feb 04, 2019

Law To Prevent Neglect?

You may soon be punished for neglecting your parents!

The government says it is open to studying a proposal for a new law to protect parents from being neglected by their children.

This is to ensure that their adult children don't simply wash their hands off their responsibility of looking after their aged parents.

However, the government says the matter will need a detailed and in-depth study before it can be implemented.

Using your mobile phone while driving can indirectly affect your focus for between 5 to 10 seconds.

A highway engineering expert told Bernama that about 4 in 10 M'sians use their phones while driving.

He says most motorists tend to use their cell phones when the roads are jammed, or when traffic is moving slowly.

Not All Fireworks Are Banned

The government says 44 types of festive fireworks are currently allowed to be sold here.

This, following a politician’s call to lift a ban on their import ahead of Chinese New Year, saying that fireworks add colour to the festive atmosphere.
