Police identify Taman Mutiara MRT robbery suspect

Feb 18, 2019

The suspect who brutally attacked and robbed a woman at the Taman Mutiara MRT station last week could be in custody soon.

The KL police chief said, the culprit has already been identified.

Datuk Seri Mazlan Lazim adds, the suspect had also robbed a 24-hour convenience store near the station, before he targeted the woman.

The 48-year-old victim suffered multiple injuries after being punched and kicked by the suspect, inside an elevator at the MRT station.

He then ran off with her MyKad, ATM cards and 400 ringgit in cash.

RapidKL has sinced beefed up security at MRT stations following the robbery on Valentine's day.

This includes putting plainclothes security personnel on patrol at the stations.

It also pointed out that passengers who feel unsafe at train stations can request for an escort.
