Special task force to study proposed mandatory vaccinations

Feb 28, 2019

The Health Ministry has set up a task force to study the proposal to make vaccinations mandatory.

It says while it wants to make them mandatory, the government has to look into it from all angles, including from the legal aspect.

Meanwhile, Sabah will wait for the federal government’s decision on proposed compulsory vaccinations, before taking steps to implement it in the state.

The state government adds that it is strongly in favour of vaccinating all children, including those who are stateless.

However, there are funding and policy matters to consider.

School syllabus to include driving theory?

Driving theory classes may be taught in schools.

The Transport Minister says currently, prospective drivers must attend six hours of theory classes.

As such, Anthony Loke says would only be practical, if these classes were taught in schools.

Loke adds that if the proposal is approved, you would still need to go to a driving centre, to take the computerised test.

Maszlee Malik apologises for recent Tweets, says it was a hack

Education Minister Dr Maszlee Malik has apologised after a series of cryptic messages suddenly appeared on his Twitter account.

He says the account was hacked, but the problem has now been solved.

Maszlee's incident was actually tame, considering what happened to some other politicians recently.

Last month, former Defence Minister Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein also blamed hackers, after his Twitter account had liked a pornographic video.
