Meanwhile, Wisma Putra has confirmed that two Malaysians have been injured in the incident.

It also urged Malaysians to check on their family and friends there, especially those in Christchurch.

Meanwhile, it has been learnt that the perpetrator livestreamed the attack.

As such, the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission has warned against sharing videos of the Christchurch shootings.

Doing so is an offence under the Communications and Multimedia Act, which carries a maximum 1 year jail term and a RM 50,000 fine.

MCMC is working with service providers to remove the footage.

Also, YouTube celebrity PewDiePie has slammed the Christchurch shooter.

The suspect reportedly told viewers to subscribe to PewDiePie's channel before he started shooting.

This is the worst mass-killing in New Zealand since 14 people died in a shooting spree in 1990.

Amid the mass shooting in the city of Christchurch, there was also a bombscare at a rail station in Auckland - 2 abandoned backpacks were found at the scene.

Police carried out a controlled explosion on the backpacks but they've yet to determine if it was actually a threat.
