He was part of fundraising initiatives, which worked together with crowdfunding platform Launchgood that helped raise over 2 million in New Zealand dollars so far.

Meanwhile, in the wake of the attack, New Zealand has decided to ban all military-style semi-automatic and assault rifles.

The government there will also ban high-capacity magazines, as well as parts that can turn these weapons into semi-automatic guns.

It will also offer an amnesty programme for owners of such weapons, and will pay owners who surrender their guns to the government.

The proposed law is expected to be in place by April 11th.

Also, both mosques that were affected in the shooting are being repaired and cleaned ahead of tomorrow's Friday prayers.
