News Wrap-up: Medicine Price Controls on the cards soon

May 02, 2019

Malaysia is moving closer to regulating the price of medicine.

The Health Ministry says this is after the Cabinet gave the scheme the green light.

It will now work with the Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs Ministry to gazette the regulations, under existing anti-profiteering laws.

The Health Ministry has yet to decide when the price controls will kick in.

Wisma Putra has denied a news report, which claimed that Malaysia has been included in the list of countries under the US visa-waiver programme.

It says Malaysians who want to travel to America STILL need to apply for visas the normal way.

The ministry also urged people to stop sharing the article on WhatsApp and social media.

Datuk Seri Najib Razak is being roasted on social media, for posting an  Avengers: Endgame spoiler on Twitter.

One commenter called it an attempt to connect with younger Msians that backfired, while another used the tweet to poke fun at his alleged crimes.

Others said it's not a big deal, because the movie's already been out for a week.

School leavers who applied for spots at public higher education institutes via UPUOnline will get their results on Sunday.
