Tun M makes Fortune's list of great leaders

Our 93-year-old Prime Minister was hailed for tackling Malaysia's corruption endemic.

Microsoft founder Bill Gates and his wife, Melinda topped the list... while New Zealand PM Jacinda Adern came in 2nd.

Take it easy with the food...

The PM has urged Malaysians not to buy too much food during the fasting month.

Tun M says it is easy to be swayed by the delicious selections at Ramadan Bazaars, but this holy month is a time to curb desires and that includes the desire for food.

The amount of food waste is known to increase during Ramadan, and the government has made certain bazaars collection and distribution points for the Food Bank, in attempts to curb the problem.

The Independent Police Complaints and Misconduct Commission (IPCMC) is not aimed at penalising the police but to take action against misconduct.

DAP Secretary-General Lim Guan Eng defended the commission, saying cops have nothing to fear if they are clean.

This comes after newly-minted IGP Datuk Seri Abdul Hamid Bador publicly stated his support for the IPCMC, despite intense objection from the entire police force.

Call the cops on fake degree-holders

Employers should lodge a police report if they find out their employee got the job with fake credentials.

Managing director of a Corporate Fraud Investigation Agency, Datuk Seri Akhbar Satar says most companies only take internal action when they uncover cases of fraud.

That means offenders can then use the same piece of paper to find another job.

He told The Star, 1 in 20 potential hires in Malaysia has fake qualifications, while 1 in 10 has credentials from unaccredited institutions.
