MOT announces new tinting rules

Good news for those of you who like tinted windows on your vehicles.

Starting tomorrow, there will no longer be a standard guideline on tinting for the rear side windows and rear windshield.

However, Transport Minister Anthony Loke says this only applies for private vehicle owners.

"It's up to the car owners whether they want to make it darker or not. We are not forcing you to make it darker. If you want to make it just as transparent as everything is up to you. And we are doing this only for private vehicles. Commercial vehicles are not allowed."

This is among the new rules for vehicle window tinting, which was announced by the Transport Ministry today.
