May 09, 2019

PM Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad says Pakatan Harapan has achieved much in its first year, despite many claiming that it failed in many ways.

Tun M says the Pakatan Harapan government fulfilled nearly 40% of its manifesto promises in just 1 year after they came into power.

He says the government had to shift its priorities and went into put-out-fire mode after it took over.

'Malaysia Baru' turned one today!

Meanwhile, political analyst Datuk Anbumani Balan praised Pakatan's war against graft, in its first year in office.

But he noted there's still a lot of room for improvement in other areas, especially when it comes to costs of living.

Catch a review on Pakatan Harapan's first year in power, on Channel News Asia, Astro channel 533, at 9pm tonight.

The Transport Ministry will not change his mind about the new rule that allows fully tinted rear windows.

It says the new rules will remain, despite objection from several quarters including the police, who claim that it could pose a danger to the driver, as well as other road users.

The Ministry came up with these changes following demands from motorists who want darker windows to block the sun and heat from vehicle cabins.

Australia made huge typo on new A$50 note

Image: ABC

Australia's central bank has confirmed that its new 50 dollar bank note has a typo in its small print - misspelling of the word Responsibility several times.

It's hardly noticable though - it was only discovered 6 months after the cash went into circulation!

The Aussie central bank says the typo will be fixed in the next print runs, and the notes with the spelling mistakes are still considered legal tender.
