You won't have to worry about hidden charges when buying flight tickets from June 1

May 24, 2019

Starting next month, you won't have to worry about hidden charges when buying flight tickets.

According to the Star, this is after the Malaysian Aviation Commission amended the Malaysian Aviation Consumer Protection Code.

Under the new code, airlines need to publish the final price of the airfare, in their advertising, promotion materials and at the point of sale.

The final price must include charges including as government tax and fees, fuel surcharges, card payment charges.

It should also include charges for optional services, such as baggage, seats and meals.

Also, passengers, who cannot make their flights must be refunded within 30 days of a request being made.
