Kuala Koh search uncovers first Orang Asli grave

Kelantan police have found one of the bodies of the 12 Orang Asli who died of a mystery disease at Kampung Kuala Koh.

The bones were found some 7 kilometres away from the village.

State police chief Datuk Hasanuddin Hassan said the remains will be left where they are for now, as the main focus is to locate the other graves.

Penang cracks down on plastic recyclers

A few months after 265 containers full of plastic waste were found abandoned in Penang, the state is tightening control over plastic recycling factories.

It is reviewing all licences issued to such factories, to make sure they adhere to the Federal Government's 18 new conditions for operation. 

The Penang government says many factories have closed down since it boosted enforcement.

India not giving up

India will continue with a move to request for the extradition of controversial preacher Dr Zakir Naik, who is currently residing in Malaysia. 

This comes just a few days after our PM said Malaysia has the right to reject the request over fears Zakir won't face fair trial in India.

Prisons are packed

Prisons in Selangor and KL are overcrowded, exceeding the capacity limit by 3,700 inmates. 

As such, prison authorities are hoping criminal justice agencies can consider allowing offenders with milder punishments to perform community service instead.
