Najib's stepson Riza Aziz arrested by MACC

Riza Aziz has been arrested by the MACC for alleged money laundering.

The commission's chief commissioner Latheefa Koya says Datuk Seri Najib Razak's stepson was arrested earlier today, after being summoned to the MACC's HQ. 

He has since been released on bail. 

Latheefa also confirmed that Riza will be charged in court tomorrow, under the Anti-Money Laundering, Anti-Terrorism Financing and Proceeds of Unlawful Activities Act.

Govt tabled Bill to amend Constitution to lower voting age

The government has tabled an amendment to the Federal Constitution, to lower the voting age from 21 to 18.

It was tabled for its first reading by the Youth and Sports Minister

Earlier, some opposition members stated they would only agree to lower the voting age, if automatic registration is introduced as well. 

In response, the Election Commision said that such a move needs a constitutional amendment as well. 

You may soon have to pay for travel insurance when you travel to Thailand

Thailand may introduce compulsory travel insurance for foreign visitors, and it could happen later this year. 

Under the proposal, travellers would have to buy the special insurance upon arriving at the airport, and it would cost about RM 2 for 30 days’ coverage

The scheme aimed at enhancing foreigners' confidence after a string of tragedies involving foreign tourists

This includes a boat accident off Phuket last year that left nearly 50 Chinese tourists dead.
