MP asset declaration to combat corruption, not to flex

The government's decision to require all MPs to declare their assets is aimed at battling corruption, not to flaunt one's wealth. 

PKR president Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said that in responding to PAS' objection to the ruling. 

PAS president Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang earlier slammed the declaration of assets as a communist and socialist theory.

Let's be clear on the MACC's role

The MACC is done with being used for political games. 

New chief Latheefa Koya says the anti-graft body wants to re-educate Malaysians on its role, which is more than just arresting people. 

She also reminded those who reach out to the MACC to first make sure the complaints are not motivated by the desire for revenge, or to insult, embarrass or humiliate someone.

Fishbombs believed to have killed three in Sabah

Two Chinese tourists and their local divemaster were allegedly killed by fishbombs in Sabah yesterday.

The trio were diving in Semporna, reportedly near the fishing boats of sea gypsies.

The police are investigating, while the Tourism Minister has called for a stop to fish bombing.
