The Women, Family and Community Development deputy Minister says parents play an important role in bringing up their children.

She said this following the news that a teenage couple in Perak were arrested on suspicion of murdering the girl's older brother

Hannah Yeoh also emphasised on the need for rehabilitation with regards to the arrest of the duo.

They have been remanded for 6 days.

Police investigating lecturer for sexual harassment

A lecturer at a tertiary institution in Terengganu is being investigated after being accused of sexual harassment by a female student.

According to Malaysiakini, police received a report about the incident and subsequently arrested the lecturer last month.

He was later released on bail.

Najib's 1MDB trial to start on Aug 19

Datuk Seri Najib Razak's long-awaited 1MDB trial will start on August 19th.

This, was after the KL High court dismissed the govt's bid to postpone the trial, in light of the ongoing SRC International case, which also involves Najib.

Najib was charged with 25 corruption charges last September involving over 2 billion ringgit of 1MDB money.
