Last Friday, odour pollution forced four water treatment plants to shut down, leading to a massive water cut.

These same plants were shut down again yesterday because of diesel pollution in Sungai Selangor.

Although the plants were reopened early this morning, Syabas can't confirm when water supply will resume and over a million consumers are affected.

The latest case of pollution is caused by sand dredging works upstream.

As such, it's working with the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs to clamp down on sales.

The Health Ministry is also planning to work with the Customs Departmeny to tighten border security and stop an influx of vape and e-cigarettes.

Senior cops responsible for rule-breaking subordinates

Senior police officers will be held responsible when their subordinates break the law.

The IGP told Malay Mail, he knows the move will be unpopular but it is the most effective way of keeping the cops in check.

Datuk Seri Abdul Hamid Bador said Corporals and Sergeants are much more experienced and should be able to spot problems with their constables and keep them in line.
