Stop speculating about missing Irish teen

Aug 07, 2019

Negeri Sembilan police still believe Nora Anne is in the dense jungle around the rainforest resort where she went missing.

The 15-year-old special needs girl disappeared from her room on Sunday, while on holiday with her family.

The state police chief said the search will follow a stream running near the resort, because they believe she'll go there to drink.

Datuk Mohamad Mat Yusop also brushed aside claims that mystical forces are at work.

The Home Minister and the police have urged Malaysians to stop spreading rumours about the missing Irish girl.

No jawi exam

There will not be an assessment for jawi calligraphy.

The Education Ministry says khat will only take up six pages of the Standard 4 Bahasa Melayu textbook as part of language art activities.

It explained this in a list of FAQs issued to alleviate fears from several quarters about the controversial issue.

Meanwhile, the Deputy Education Minister says Chinese and Tamil education groups have agreed to have khat taught in schools.

According to the Malaysian Insight, the associations that have given their backing to the move include Dong Zong, Jiao Zong and the Tamil Foundation.

MACC deals with up to 40 complaints per day

MACC chief Latheefa Koya says her agency is swamped with complaints, receiving about 40 each day.

"For 100 complaints, only 30% falls in the category of bribe. The rest would be complaints to MBPJ, city council, roadworks, all kinds of things. So we need to filter because people think that MACC can solve all problems."

She also confirmed most MPs have declared their assets, but some are lagging behind because they're confused about the procedure.
