Less haze this week, hopefully...

The haze will be easing this week because we're expecting lots of rain, but the air pollution has already made its mark. 

The number of patients seeking treatment for conjunctivitis, asthma and skin rashes has risen by 40 percent nationwide. 

The Health Ministry says it's not enough to just wear a face mask when you go out, you also need to wash all exposed parts of your body. 

All schools In KL, Putrajaya and Penang will reopen today, while those in Kuala Langat and Klang in Selangor will remain closed.

PTPTN tax exemption scheme yet to make waves

Only six employers have taken advantage of PTPTN's tax exemption scheme, to help their employees repay their study loans so far. 

PTPTN says that's because the scheme is still new and not many employers know about it.

There could be DNA data in birth certs soon

DNA data could soon be a feature in birth certificates as the National Registration Department looks at new ways to stem abuse. 

This comes after a syndicate in Penang was accused of working with a senior NRD officer to issue illegal birth certs and MyKads to foreigners.
