1.4 million Malaysians don't have a MyKad??!!

1.4 million Malaysians aged over 12 years and who have birth certificates, don't have MyKads!

The Home Minister said there are many reasons for this, including forgetting to apply and having ignorant parents. 

To make the process easier, next year, the government will introduce online applications for several services, including MyKad and birth cert applications, and marrige registrations for non-Muslims.

Only 15 pct of M'sia's workforce will consist foreigners by next year

By 2020, foreign workers will only make up 15 percent of Malaysia's workforce. 

The Human Resources Ministry said this is in line with the government's objective of creating citizens with high skills and high income. 

Under Budget 2020, the Locals At Work intiative was announced, using incentives to encourage Malaysian employers to hire locals over foreigners.

Locals hired to replace foreign workers will also be given incentives of between RM350 and RM500 per month, for two years.

Tun M isn't worried about purpoted palm oil sanctions from India

The Prime Minister is not worried about recent reports that traders from India are stopping imports of our palm oil, over claims of impending economic sanctions. 

Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad said, "This is the opinion of businessmen, and we can't react to their personal decisions. If the government launches a boycott or something like that, then we'll have to work diplomatically."

India is said to be considering trade action against Malaysia, for Tun M's recent comments about the Kashmir conflict.
