The DPM says the federal government cannot enforce a ban on child marriages nationwide because 7 states are not willing to do so.

Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail told the Dewan Rakyat the states are Sarawak, Pahang, Terengganu, Perlis, Negri Sembilan, Kedah and Kelantan

She noted that so far, only Selangor has successfully amended its laws on child marriages, while the Federal Territories is in the process of amending it.

Tun M is OK

PM Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad is fine and is back at his work, after suffering a nose bleed at a press conference at the International Palm Oil Congress and Exhibition in KL earlier today

The PC had to be cut short as a result of the nosebleed.

A 7-month-old baby boy has been hospitalised after he was allegedly abused by a babysitter at a nursery in Penang yesterday.

Police say that the baby had bruises on his face, but medical checks found no signs of bleeding.

He is currently undergoing further observations.
