Heavy traffic expected at Woodlands and Tuas checkpoints during festive period

The Immigration and Checkpoints Authority in Singapore has warned that heavy traffic is expected at the Woodlands and Tuas checkpoints during the end-of-year festive season.
It says travellers can expect heavy traffic from today to January 1st, adding that this weekend is expected to be one of the busiest at the land checkpoints.

Proposal to limit low-capacity motorcycles speed needs in-depth study
The Transport Minister says the proposal to limit the speed of low-capacity motorcycles like 'kapchai' to 70km per hour requires careful study.
This as the implementation of the plan will involve about 10 million registered motorcycle owners.
With regards to calls for special motorcycle lanes, the Minister says it will be submitted to the Economic Affairs Ministry to make it part of the 12th Malaysia Plan.
The Health Ministry has stressed on the need to stop prescribing patients antibiotics for viral respiratory infections like coughs and colds.
It says this has increased resistance to certain medicines, which in turn has led to higher fatalities.
The Ministry add that at least 700 thousand people die due to drug-resistant diseases globally every year, according to the WHO.
