M'sians Catch Glimpse Of Rare Eclipse

People across the country flocked outdoors today, to witness a rare eclipse.

The annular eclipse, also known as a 'ring of fire 'eclipse, was visible in our skies for the first time in two decades.

The rare phenomenon takes place when the Sun and Moon are exactly in line with the Earth.

The Immigration Dept has warned the public NOT to take the law into their own hands, and take it upon themselves to detain illegal migrants. 

Its Director General says under the law, such arrests can only be done by Immigration, police and Customs officers.

If they do want to help, they should channel any relevant info on illegal immigrants to the department, so that action can be taken.

He was commenting after Datuk Ibrahim Ali's new political party set up a vigilante squad that will target undocumented migrants and overstaying tourists.

Former Attorney General Tan Sri Apandi Ali has quit as Umno's disciplinary board chairman, barely a year after his appointment to the post.

He claims there was outside interference in a disciplinary hearing against a top party leader.
