MOH assures there are enough influenza vaccines

The Health Ministry has once again assured that there's sufficient supply of influenza vaccines. 

It says extra consignments of the vaccine have been brought in since last year, explaning that the lack of availability was only temporary, due to a sudden spike in demand. 

Meanwhile, A school in Teluk Intan was closed yesterday, after eight of its students tested positive for Influenza A. 

There've been no other school closures reported in other states.

This, as a seven-year-old girl in Johor died of complications from suspected influenza.

Latheefa Koya suspects of plot to undermine her

MACC Chief Commissioner Latheefa Koya claims there's a criminal plot to tarnish her reputation. 

She says this follows the commission's move to disclose phone recordings involving high-ranking officials, including former Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak.

Latheefa says she will be lodging a police report over the plot today, adding that it will not prevent her from doing her job.

Meanwhile, the IGP says Latheefa will be one of several individuals to be called in to give their statement over the phone recordings. 

He adds that the cops are currently working to check the authenticity of the audio clips.

Tun M won't make big decisions as Education Minister yet

Prime Minister and acting Education Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad says he will not make any major ministerial decisions just yet.

He says he first wants to look into the problems that the ministry has been facing, before anouncing any reforms.

Tun M did, however, say he is considering proposals to split the ministry into two entities, one for education and one for higher education.
