Jan 14, 2020

Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir says he is ready to leave his post as head of government, should the PH presidential council demand it.

He said this after several PKR MP's proposed that he hand over the PM post to Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim in May this year.

Tun Mahathir said, "I think this will be decided, by all the four parties together, whether they want me to go or not to go. As far as I'm concerned if they want me to go now, I'll go now."

Tun M had earlier said that he will hand over the position to Anwar, but only after the Asia-Pacific Economic Coorperation forum in November this year.

The MACC has lodged a police report against individuals whom they claim plotted to tarnish its chief commissioner, Latheefa Koya's reputation.

However, the commission's legal officer has declined to reveal the names and the evidence that were handed over to the police.

Last week, the anti-graft's chief commissioner revealed audio recordings of conversations, believed to be between Datuk Seri Najib Razak and other high-profile individuals regarding the 1MDB scandal.
